3rd Party Voting & Withholding Your Vote

#VotesAreEarned — not demanded, or owed.

The way the Electoral College votes work, it is mathmatically small that any one or even 10s of thousands of votes will make a difference in the outcome of a Presidential Election — even in “battleground states”.

Read all about how voting 3rd party votes *don’t impact* the election, in most cases. And why voting 3rd party may be the *BEST* strategic option for the best way to make the change we want and need.

There are 4 articles, and watch Jimmy Dore’s video on #WithholdingYourVote at the end of the list:

snip: There are two kinds of wasted votes that mathematically have no effect on the final election:

– Votes cast for candidates who did not win
– Excess votes cast for winning candidates

Clearly, neither of these kinds of votes statistically affect the election. However, many arguments only mention the first type without mentioning the second. Mathematically and logically, both categories are ineffectual votes.

snip: The lesser of two evils is still evil.
You have become a political prostitute. You aren’t standing up for what you believe in by voting “the lesser of two evils.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being a political hooker.

snip: What forced the Democratic Party to shift left after decades of moving to the right? Fear that progressives will withhold their votes this coming November.

After years of empty threats from progressives, the November 2016 voter boycott proved they wouldn’t sell their votes without getting something in return.

The answer to the question, what should progressives do, is easy in the long term. Progressives should boycott Democratic candidates who don’t credibly pledge to support progressive policies.

Both political parties are controlled by Wall Street’s monied interests … and have been for decades. That needs to change. One party must break free.

Electing Joe Biden cements in place Wall Street running both parties for at least another decade … and that’s the real threat to our post-industrial civilized society (see my Sep. 2016 St Louis Post Op-Ed below).

The same logic applies in 2020.

#WitholdYourVote

Here is Kyle Kulinski showing Lawrence O’Donnell promoting “withold your vote” if you want to make the DNC listen to you!!!

And Kyle and Lawrence are correct. We *MUST* use our vote to change the narratives, and to get the results we demand from our government!

If you want *just* Lawrence O’Donnells clip, here it is.

#PoliticalToughLove

After trusting and voting for Democrats for 40 years, they have destroyed that trust with their lies and manipulations and cheating and #StackingTheDeck against Bernie in 2 presidential primaries: 2016 and 2020.

I have been frustrated and disgusted with Democrats since they rolled over in 2000, and refused to fight for vote counting in Florida.

Sadly, it has only gone down hill since then. Always promising they will help the workers, and never delivering, but always with a good sounding excuse why they couldn’t do anything. And we rewarded their laziness with more of our votes and reelection.

Frankly, it feels like I’m in an emotionally/mentally abusive relationship and I have PTSD!

Today, I watched these two videos with Krystal Ball, and I agree with her 100%.

edited 3/12/2020 … added Jimmy Dore’s video on the same topic.

I came to the conclusion, that just like children, the DNC needs some tough love, hence: #PoliticalToughLove time.

Democrats can no longer count on my, and many other progressives, votes.

Our #VotesMustBeEarned.

No more falling in line. No more blind trust.

Trust, like votes, must be earned.

Once they realize (several election cycles or about 4-8 years) that they are no longer winning elections because they can no longer count on our votes, they will, once again, start to give us what we want: our taxes going to #PeopleFirstPolicies, not bailouts to the auto industry, the oil industry, Wall Street, or *more* tax breaks to multi-billion dollar profitable companies like Walmart and Amazon.

Now, we have to use our power. Yes, we will have some short-term pain, but a big payoff at the end. If we continue our capitulation and vote for #SQDs (Status Quo Dems), we will have long-term pain.

What is #PoliticalToughLove: Don’t vote for candidates that are not progressive. Do not settle for centrists/status quo candidates by voting for them. Leave that race blank, or vote 3rd party.

No more trusting the #DemEstablishment. No more “settling” for a centrist/status quo/corporate owned democrat.

#RealProgressivesOnly.

Side Note:

I also ran across this very interesting video on how to start a successful 3rd party. Definitely something we need to be working towards since both current parties are corporate owned and care nothing for the workers.
